There is a fallacy that Pilates is only for people who are already dancers, already in shape, already flexible, already strong, and already perfect. Ugly Duckling Pilates aims to smash that fallacy to smithereens.
Movement training is for everyone, from the healthy to the injured and everyone in between. It doesn’t matter if you’re underweight or overweight, fit or broken, tall or short, stiff or flexible, weak or strong. It just doesn’t matter.
A good instructor will look at you and suggest movements that suit your needs in that particular moment and others that match your long term goals. If your shoulders are tense and your head looks uncomfortable the focus will be different than if your knees are locked and your arches have fallen and even still each session will be dictated by how you feel right then.
